Bristol BrewDog opening nite

After our trip out to the opening of ZaZa Bazaar earlier this year we attended the opening of the latest in the line of BrewDog pubs.

The bar has opened on Baldwin Street, which is at most a 30 second walk from our offices here in St Nicholas House, so in terms of location it couldn't get much better. Upon entering we were cheered by the staff as we were the first customers into the bar ever! Nice to be welcomed so warmly particularly in Bristol where people can sometimes take a while to warm to new people (Sorry but you know it).

Real beer is always going to go down well with us and so the opportunity to try a couple of different brews was a great start.

The Punk IPA came out tops on our chart with 5am Saint 2nd. As a Scot I was really hoping for a 80-/ equivalent but no such luck, better keep looking. The atmosphere filled quickly with the music low enough to allow conversation which is just right for a good nite out.

The punk feel was slightly evident with a New York bar stripped back feel however I think if it was us doing the marketing we would have added a little more edge.

Didn't get a chance to try Jonny's food out but will do soon and I'll add to this blog as an update when I do.

So Bristol's new bar gets a double thumbs up from this reviewer and likely a bit of a regular.
