Bump to 3

Background

In early 2007 Steve started supporting the www.bumpto3.com site, which was then taken over by Gibe on its formation in early 2009. In August 2009 Gibe was commissioned to refresh the bump to 3 site with new functionality, new branding and the new Autumn/Winter catalogue.

The solution

Gibe updated the site which runs on Microsoft Commerce Server and RedDot CMS to include the new branding elements, new product catalogue and a new checkout. This update coincided with the DM launch of the new catalogue and had to go live on a specific date. Gibe hit the deadline and even got some additional changes into the release.

Gibe used specialist information architects to design the new checkout on paper. This meant that we could get the user flow and page structure agreed before going into design and development. This also provided a great way of demonstrating the new checkout to the bump to 3 senior management team to get board sign off.

Results

The Bump to 3 site has performed fantastically since 2007 with site visitors increasing 30% year on year since 2007. The new checkout outperformed the old checkout by 15.7% which equates to approximately £300k per year in revenue.
