Background

In early 2007 Steve started supporting the www.bumpto3.com site, which was then taken over by Gibe on its formation in early 2009. In August 2009 Gibe was commissioned to refresh the bump to 3 site with new functionality, new branding and the new Autumn/Winter catalogue.

Objectives

  • Refresh the site with new branding elements to allude to rebrand
  • Add new product catalogue
  • Increase conversion
  • Ongoing: monitor and improve the performance of the site

The solution

Gibe updated the site which runs on Microsoft Commerce Server and RedDot CMS to include the new branding elements and new product catalogue. This update coincided with the DM launch of the new catalogue and had to go live at a specified time. Gibe hit the deadline and even got some additional changes into the release.

As part of our ongoing work we’ve carried out a user experience review of the existing checkout process. We are looking to make further refinements to increase the conversion of visitors by reducing dropout from the checkout process. This is the first step in a program of ongoing usability enhancements to increase the sites conversion.

Gibe continue to provide strategic advice for the support and marketing of the Bump to 3 site, with regular monthly updates and enhancements being made to the site and marketing materials.

Services

  • Strategy and consultancy
  • Design and usability
  • Analytics
  • Technology: XHTML/CSS, RedDot CMS, MS Commerce server
  • Hosting and technical support

Results

The Bump to 3 site has performed fantastically since 2007 with site visitors increasing 30% year on year since 2007. Also the number of transactions has steadily grown with an average 5.4% increase year on year.

Client testimonial

Over the past 2 years Steve has proved invaluable to the smooth running of our website and business. The formation of Gibe signals exciting times with Pete’s experience and strategic advice supporting the high levels of technical support we receive. I’m happy to recommend gibe to anyone looking for an experienced, friendly agency that really delivers.

Armit

Background

Armit is a fine wine merchant that sells wine directly to businesses and individuals through online and offline channels. In early 2007 Steve took over the technical support of the www.armit.co.uk site. When Gibe was setup the support of the Armit site was transferred.

Objectives

  • Ongoing: monitor and improve the performance of the site
  • Adhoc updates

The solution

The Armit site is a complicated ecommerce site that is integrated into the Armit back-end system, which allows for the tracking of both online and offline orders. It also has complicated tax and duty systems necessary for completing wine sales.

Gibe provides technical support for the site ensuring that the sites' CMS is available for internal staff to maintain the wines, promotions, offers and content of the site. In addition Gibe supports the technical infrastructure that the site is running on, including a 3rd party dedicated hosting platform. Gibe provides development recommendations and carries out ad hoc updates to the site.

Services

  • Technology: XHTML/CSS, RedDot CMS, MS Commerce server
  • Hosting and technical support

Client testimonial

We’ve worked with Steve at Gibe for the past couple of years and have been impressed with the ecommerce knowledge and experience that he’s provided. We continue to work with Gibe for technical development and website support.

Gro

Background

In the autumn of 2009 The Gro Company launched its new brand identity. The new identity was rolled out across all design material, including packaging, POS, DM and digital coms. Gibe was commissioned to rebuild the corporate website to reflect the new brand VI and add new functionality.

Objectives

  • Increase interaction with the brand
  • Create warmth for The Gro Company brand
  • Drive traffic to The Gro Store and partner stores

The solution

Gibe commissioned a user experience specialist to help define the content and structure of the site. New content was required to help engage the audience with some potentially dry corporate material so various interactive flash sections were created to tell The Gro Company story and introduce the Gro team.

In addition to the new flash content, blog and news sections were added to the site that allow multiple people within the company to add new posts, giving further insight to the daily activities of The Gro Company. These new editorial areas of the site have really helped demonstrate the warmth and openess of this friendly, family-owned company.

The other key point for this site was to showcase the products in the best possible light. To do this we made the products themselves really easy to navigate to with clear page layout and call to actions prompting users to buy. Bespoke product zoom technology was added allowing users to zoom right into the detail of the products – even being able to see the stitching on the grobag baby sleeping bags!

Technology

  • RedDot CMS
  • XHTML
  • .NET 3.5
  • Microsoft Seadragon (for product zooms)

Results

It’s still early days but signs are good with unique site visitors increasing 7% and interaction levels increasing with average page views up 59% to over 6 pages per visit.

Client testimonial

Gibe demonstrated the ability to grasp the essence of our brand and translate it into a great user experience on our corporate site. Their flexible approach to working, eagerness to roll up their sleeves and solid project management has delivered a high quality product on time and budget. We look forward to the next project with Gibe.

Bailey Robinson

Background

Gibe has been supporting the Bailey Robinson site since 2007. In August 2009 Bailey Robinson commissioned a redesign of their website to align with the new catalogue, get more stand out in the market place and increase the performance of the site.

Objectives

  • Closer alignment with offline brand assets – the new catalogues and branding material
  • Increase conversion of site traffic to qualified sales leads
  • Drive more traffic to the site by increasing the performance of the site in organic search listings
  • Provide a comprehensive information base for users to research holidays in more depth

The solution

Gibe completely redesigned the homepage, using striking hero imagery to really sell the products – beautiful luxury holidays, safaris and journeys. The hero image area uses JavaScript to switch between the three core product offerings, essentially giving Bailey Robinson three homepages in one.

The changes to the rest of the pages were limited to style sheet refreshes as the site use’s thousands of images to display all the resort information. These style sheet changes included site backgrounds, feature blocks, call to actions and new key pages.

In addition to the new homepage and style sheet changes Gibe created a completely new offers section with a CMS backend. The offers are now listed by region and country and can be quickly viewed by expanding each region within the offers page. This enhancement along with clear call to actions and big hero imagery should help increase site conversion.

Services

  • Strategy and consultancy
  • Design and usability
  • Technology: XHTML/CSS and bespoke CMS
  • Hosting and technical support

Results

It’s still really early days so we have no statistics on the performance of the new site. We’re really hoping that the clear call to actions and use of prominent hero imagery will increase sales leads from the site!

Client testimonial

Our new site design is impactful and perfectly reflects our brand values; we’re so pleased with it. Gibe has provided invaluable design support and consultancy and have, as always been a pleasure to work with.
